Pair a machine
How loadout pair mints a code, where to enter it, and how to confirm a machine actually joined your fleet.
loadout pairPrints a 12-character code and waits. The code is minted on this machine — not by the dashboard — and expires if it is never confirmed.
Type that code into /pair (or open the URL the command printed alongside it, which pre-fills the field). The agent picks the confirmation up itself and registers the machine.
loadout service installInstalls the agent as a background service so it survives logout — otherwise the daemon stops the moment you close the terminal. Prefer to watch it run instead?
loadout runstarts the same daemon in an attached terminal.
Confirm it worked
The paired machine turns online in Machines once its agent is running and has sent a heartbeat. Locally, loadout service status reports whether the background service is installed and currently running on this machine.
Re-pairing
Running loadout pair again on a machine that already has credentials re-attaches its existing row — and its existing inventory — instead of creating a second entry for the same computer.
